The Simpsons Movie DVD contains four hidden Easter eggs that give a real insight into the development of the film. Plus Homer has a punch up in one of them.
Below is a clear guide to what each one contains and how it is triggered.
Easter Egg 1: Homer vs THX Robot
Go to the Language Menu.
Highlight English 5.1 Dolby Digital and press left on your remote.
A hidden line will appear under the language and audio options. Press Enter.
This unlocks a short animated parody of the THX intro sequence. Homer appears in a fight with the THX robot. A disclaimer is shown stating that the sequence was not used in the film or any screenings.
Easter Egg 2: Colin Character Design
Go to the Deleted Scenes Menu.
Highlight Play All and press up.
This reveals visual development artwork for Colin, Lisa’s boyfriend. It shows early design concepts used during production.
Easter Egg 3: Russ Cargill Concept Art
Go to the Special Stuff Menu.
Highlight Play All and press up.
This unlocks early character design work for Russ Cargill, including concept sketches from the development stage.
Easter Egg 4: Multi-Eyed Squirrel Artwork
Go to the Trailers Menu.
Highlight Play All and press up.
This reveals visual development artwork for the multi-eyed squirrel seen in the film. It shows early design ideas before the final version was created.
