Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is packed with quirky details, so it’s no surprise that the DVD release also contains a few hidden surprises. Hidden across both discs are three Easter eggs that many fans never discover.
Here’s how to find them all.
Easter Egg #1 – Hidden Outtakes (Disc 1)
Insert Disc 1 and head to Bonus Features.
Once you’re there, press the Up button on your DVD remote.
An arrow will appear inside the ship map. Highlight the arrow and press Enter.
You’ll unlock a collection of outtakes from the film, featuring extra moments that didn’t make the final cut.
Easter Egg #2 – Antonio Monda Introduction (Disc 2)
Insert Disc 2 and navigate to Seu Jorge Performs David Bowie.
Now press the Up button on your remote.
An arrow pointing seemingly to nothing will appear. Select it and press Enter.
This reveals a hidden video introduction to the DVD from Antonio Monda, the film critic and journalist who appears in the special features.
Easter Egg #3 – Albert’s Golf Shot (Disc 2)
Stay on Disc 2 and highlight Mondo Monda.
Press the Left button on your remote.
A small arrow will appear directly beneath the menu text. Press Enter to activate it.
You’ll be treated to a short clip of Albert hitting a golf ball directly at the cameraman.
