How To Access the Alien 3 DVD Easter Egg
- Go to Special Features
- Select the Making Of documentary
- Let the documentary play all the way to the end
- When it finishes, do nothing
- After a short period of silence, the hidden trailer will start automatically
What You’ll See
A full trailer that’s very different from the one listed in the menu.
It feels much closer to the Assembly Cut version of the film rather than the theatrical release.
There’s also a strange bit of dubbing — a line spoken by one of the inmates in the film is replaced with an American voiceover in the trailer.
It stands out immediately.
What I Like About This Easter Egg
This is a good example of a “passive” Easter egg — no button combinations, no hidden icons. You just have to wait.
Most people will never see it because they’ll exit the documentary as soon as it ends.
The trailer itself is also more interesting than the official one on the disc. It gives a different feel for the film and gives a better idea of the original intentions of the film.
Small detail, but the bad dubbing makes it even better. It’s rough, obvious, and completely out of place.
Exactly the kind of thing you want from hidden content.
