Shaun of the Dead DVD

The Shaun of the Dead DVD contains one of the strangest hidden features in my entire collection. Unlike most DVD Easter eggs, this one isn’t hidden in the menus at all.

Instead, you have to trigger it while watching the film.

How to Find the Hidden Storyboard

  1. Insert the Shaun of the Dead DVD and start playing the movie.
  2. Skip to around 39 minutes into the film.
  3. Watch for the scene where Shaun and Ed are driving away from the house.
  4. As they drive past a lawnmower with a severed arm attached and a Neighbourhood Watch sign, press Enter on your DVD remote.
  5. If timed correctly, you’ll unlock a hidden storyboard.

What’s Hidden?

The Easter egg reveals a storyboard for Scene 60. In this unused sequence, Shaun and Ed discuss taking Philip’s car.

It’s an incredibly obscure extra and one that most fans will never discover by accident.

Why This Easter Egg Is So Unusual

Most DVD Easter eggs are hidden behind menu icons, invisible buttons, or secret navigation tricks. The Shaun of the Dead DVD does something completely different by hiding content during the movie itself.

Unless you know the exact moment to press Enter, you’ll never find it.
