The original black edition of The Godfather Trilogy contains four hidden easter eggs on its bonus disc. These include a suprise visit from another famous Gangster series.
Easter Egg 1: Setup Outtakes
Go to the Setup menu on the bonus disc.
Press right on your remote until a globe icon appears.
Select the globe.
This unlocks a set of film outtakes from across the trilogy.
Easter Egg 2: James Caan Audition Tape
Open the Family Tree menu.
Select Sonny.
Highlight the picture of James Caan.
Press left to shift focus onto his image.
Press enter to view his original audition tape for the film.
Easter Egg 3: Mario Puzo Bonus Feature
Go to the Filmmakers section.
Select Mario Puzo.
Press left twice.
A dollar sign icon appears.
Select it to access a short clip where Mario Puzo explains why he agreed to write the screenplay for the film.
Easter Egg 4: The Sopranos Crossover Clip
Go to Galleries.
Open DVD Credits.
Press next twice.
On the fourth screen, the menu highlights “Previous”.
Instead of selecting it, choose Next and press enter.
This unlocks a hidden video featuring Tony Soprano and his crew attempting (and failing) to watch The Sopranos style footage of The Godfather on DVD.
