300 DVD Easter Egg
The standard 2-disc DVD release of 300 contains a hidden featurette called Preparing for Battle: The Test Footage.
How to Access the Easter Egg
- Insert Disc 1.
- Select Special Features from the main menu.
- Highlight Main Menu.
- Press Down on your remote control. Pressing Up also works.
- A blood-splatter icon will become highlighted.
- Press Enter.
The hidden featurette will then play.
What’s Hidden?
Preparing for Battle: The Test Footage runs for approximately six minutes.
The featurette includes interviews with Zack Snyder, Frank Miller and the film’s producers discussing the adaptation of the graphic novel.
It also contains proof-of-concept footage created before production began. The footage was used to demonstrate how the film’s visual style and action sequences would translate to the screen.
This material is not accessible through the disc’s standard menu options.
