Pixar hid plenty of bonus features on its early DVDs, and the Toy Story 2-Disc Collector’s Edition DVD is no exception. Across both discs, there are three hidden Easter eggs waiting to be discovered.
Two of them unlock fun animated clips featuring Woody, while the other is a quirky hidden screen dedicated to everyone’s favourite drawing toy, the Etch-a-Sketch.
Here’s how to find all three hidden features.
Easter Egg #1 – The Hidden Etch-a-Sketch Screen
This first Easter egg is found on Disc One.
How to find it:
- Go to the Setup menu.
- Highlight Return to Film.
- Press Left on your remote.
- The Ohio Art logo will become highlighted in the top-left corner.
- Press Enter.
This unlocks a hidden copyright screen for the Etch-a-Sketch, one of the memorable toys that appears in the original Toy Story.
Easter Egg #2 – Woody Plays Baseball
The second hidden feature can be found on Disc Two.
How to find it:
- From the main menu, select Behind the Scenes.
- Choose Publicity.
- Highlight any menu option.
- Press Left to highlight Woody’s sheriff badge.
- Press Enter.
You’ll unlock a short hidden animation showing Woody playing baseball.
Easter Egg #3 – A Hidden Jessie Outtake
The final Easter egg is also located on Disc Two.
How to find it:
- From the main menu, highlight any option.
- Press Right to highlight Woody’s sheriff badge.
- Press Enter.
This reveals a humorous outtake from the “Jessie’s Song” sequence that originally appeared on the 2000 Ultimate Toy Box DVD set. The clip also includes a brief introduction from Pixar director John Lasseter.
